Bill Brinkman

Bill Brinkman is the Physics Department Cryogenics Specialist. He also is good at working miracles with vacuum systems. Without him we would spend less than half the year doing research because our equipment would be down so often.

This is Bill working on the helium liquefier. It purifies and condenses gaseous helium into liquid. With this equipment the department can recover most of the helium used in experiments, and can also purchase less pure gas, saving money all around.
